TOFTI Cross Math

TOFTI Cross Math is an original arithmetic crossword where five-cell horizontal and vertical equations meet at shared number cells. Place the numbers from the tray into the blanks so every equation is true at the same time. A crossing number can affect two equations, so each move must balance the entire network.

There are four difficulty modes. Easy starts with 5 equations, 4 crossings and 4 blanks. Medium has 7 equations, 6 crossings and 6 blanks. Hard expands to 10 equations, 9 crossings and 11 blanks, while Expert reaches 13 equations, 12 crossings and 15 blanks. Every new round preserves the strategic structure of its mode while generating fresh numbers and operators.

Tap a number and then a dashed blank, or drag with a mouse or finger. Undo restores the last placement. Easy and Medium provide three hints; Hard and Expert provide two. A full incorrect board costs one heart and returns wrong numbers to the tray. Time, remaining hearts, hints and mistakes determine the score and star result.

The date-seeded Daily Expert puzzle awards 1.5 times the score. Best times, player name, sound preference and the top five scores stay only on the current device. The bilingual game fits phones, tablets and desktops. No account, download, paid lives or in-game ads are required. The code, puzzle generator, interface, artwork and synthesized sounds were created from scratch for TOFTI.

How to play

Tap a number in the tray, then tap a dashed blank. You can also hold and drag a number into place. Crossing number cells belong to both a horizontal and vertical equation, so one placement can complete two paths. The puzzle ends automatically when every equation is true.

If all blanks are filled but an equation is wrong, you lose a heart and the incorrect numbers return to the tray. After three lost hearts you can retry the same puzzle. Hint fills one correct cell. Undo restores the last placement; Restart resets the same puzzle. Space pauses and M toggles sound. Faster, clean solutions without hints earn more points.
