TOFTI!

Getting the games ready…

Four in a Row

Four in a Row is a strategy game about dropping discs and building the first line of four. The board has seven columns and six rows. A disc falls to the lowest available space in your chosen column. Four discs belonging to one player win horizontally, vertically or diagonally. If the board fills without a winning line, the game is a draw.

This TOFTI edition lets you play against the computer or share one device with another player. Orange always starts. The computer controls teal, considers possible continuation moves and tries to block direct threats. It is a practical opponent, not an unbeatable solver of every position. In two-player mode, players take turns choosing columns on the same screen.

Central columns can connect to more horizontal and diagonal lines. However, claiming the center should not distract you from an opponent's three-disc threat. Check for your own immediate winning move first. If there is none, block a line your opponent could finish next turn. Remember that dropping a disc also makes the space directly above it available to the other player.

A completed winning line is outlined in white. New game clears the board; changing opponent type also starts a fresh match. The code and geometric discs were created for TOFTI without an external gaming service, in-game advertising, paid power-ups or online matchmaking. Two-player mode means sharing the same device, not connecting remotely.

How to play

Click a column on the board or its down-arrow button. Your disc drops to that column's lowest empty cell. Full columns cannot be selected. You cannot drop another disc while the computer is thinking.

Choose Against computer or Two players, same device from the opponent menu. Orange moves first, and the status line announces the next turn. Join four matching discs horizontally, vertically or diagonally to win.

New game clears the current match and gives Orange the first move. Before each turn, check whether you can win immediately, whether your opponent can win next, and whether your disc would support a new diagonal threat.
