Minesweeper
Minesweeper asks you to infer hidden hazards from numbers on a grid. This TOFTI edition has a 9 × 9 board containing 10 mines. Reveal all 71 safe cells to win. Flags are useful notes, not the win condition by themselves. Selecting a mine ends the round and reveals where the mines were placed.
A number counts mines in the surrounding horizontal, vertical and diagonal cells. If a cell shows 1 and only one of its neighbors is still hidden, with no other known mine beside it, that hidden neighbor must contain the mine. Once all mines counted by a number are identified, its other neighbors are safe. A blank cell has no adjacent mines; opening it automatically expands the connected empty region.
Mines are placed after your first move, keeping that cell and its immediate neighbors safe. This prevents an instant first-click loss, but it does not guarantee that every later position can be resolved without guessing. When a position is unclear, compare cells shared by several adjacent numbers. A rushed flag based on a single clue can distort your reasoning elsewhere.
The code, interface and simple artwork were created for TOFTI. The game package has no outside advertising, analytics SDK or paid continuation feature. Mouse and touch players follow the same rules. A round is not saved to a server; refreshing the page or choosing New game starts another board.
How to play
Left-click or tap to reveal a cell. On a computer, right-click to place a flag and right-click again to remove it. On a phone, switch Flag on and tap the cells you want to mark. Switch it off before revealing more cells.
Flagged cells cannot be revealed accidentally. You can place up to 10 flags, and the counter shows how many are in use. Remove a flag before opening a cell you think was marked incorrectly.
You win when all safe cells are open. New game clears the board and all flags. After your first click, start with small numbers around the open region, remembering that diagonal neighbors count too.
